(3) The Seven Lebanese Villages, which form an area of 52 km2, are Terbikha,
Salha, Malkiyeh, Qadas, Hounine, Nabi Youshaa, Ibel
al-Qamah. These Villages were integrated into mandatory
Palestine in 1923, when France and Britain redrew the
borders between Lebanon, Palestine and Syria as part of
the New-camp agreement.
The Residents of the Seven Villages fled to Lebanon in
1948 after the creation of "Israel". They registered
themselves as Palestinian refugees to get entitled to
UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency) social and
economic benefits. The Villagers and their Descendants
reclaimed their Lebanese Citizenship in 1994 after thirty
years of appeals in the Lebanese courts.
